Duxtop Whole-Clad Tri-Ply 9-piece Stainless Steel Set

Design

The 9-piece set has a high-grade look and feel that works well in modern and contemporary homes. Each piece comes in a sleek silver color with a substantial mass to convince you of the durability of the material. The weight is well-balanced throughout each piece of cookware, the finish is beautiful, and the cookware adds a touch of professionalism to your kitchen's style.

Materials

The pots and pans in this set are made from whole-clad tri-ply stainless steel construction. One layer of thick aluminum is situated in between two outer layers of stainless steel, giving the pieces their sturdy look and feel. The pots and lids come with riveted loop handles that are incredibly solid and stay cool while you cook.

Everything in this set is compatible with any type of stovetop. Whether you use a gas, halogen, ceramic, electric plate, or induction stovetop, you'll be able to cook with these pieces. Plus, you won't hear any buzzing on induction stoves as you might with other cookware.

Usability

Due to the tri-ply construction, heat distributes evenly along the bottom and sides of the cookware in this set. This feature allows you to cook at lower temperatures than you might need to with other cookware. Because the handles stay cool to the touch, you can move the pieces without worry of burning, though you will need to use potholders if you use any of these pieces in the oven.

To ensure no food gets stuck to the bottom of your pots and pans, you'll want to preheat your cookware and apply oil, butter, or another type of lipid. Remember that the preheating is essential; you want to avoid adding any kind of fat to a cold pan.

The lids, made from the same material as their respective pots and pans, work diligently to keep in heat and moisture for even cooking. The pouring rims are drip-free to minimize kitchen messes. Lastly, and thankfully, these pots and pans don't scratch easily, so you can maintain their brand new appearance for a long time granted you don't regularly use a metal utensil every time you need to stir something in your pot or pan.

These pieces are also safe to put in your freezer so that you can store your food right in your pots and pans if that's what you need to do.

Cleaning

Duxtop stainless steel cookware is very easy to clean, as long as you oiled your pans before cooking. These pieces are not non-stick, so you'll need to take care of them for the cleaning to go smoothly.

The cookware is dishwasher-safe but should be just as quick and straightforward to wash in the sink. It's best to let the cookware cool off before cleaning to minimize any discoloration that might occur if you put them immediately underwater after you take them off the stove.

The set contains:

  • 8-inch fry pan
  • 10-inch fry pan
  • 6-quart saucepan and lid
  • 3-quart saucepan and lid
  • 6 and a half quart saucepot and lid
  • 6-inch pot holder

Pros

  • Tri-ply construction offers durability and even cooking
  • Dishwasher-safe
  • Doesn't scratch easily
  • Compatible with any stovetop
  • Handles are incredibly stable and stay cool to the touch

Cons

  • You can't see through the lids to check on your food
  • The pieces have more weight than they look which may make the cookware hard to move around when cooking heavier foods
  • No rubber grips on the handles

Duxtop Whole-Clad Try-Ply 10-Piece Stainless Steel Set

Design

The pieces in this set are silvery steel color that adds the aesthetic of modern kitchens. The metallic finish of this cookware shines and enhances the beauty of your kitchen. The pieces are heavy duty and have substantial weight to them, ensuring you of their durability.

Materials

Like the previous set on this list, the Duxtop 10-piece set contains pieces made from tri-ply stainless steel construction. A thick aluminum layer between two external stainless steel layers ensures quick heating and even heat distribution along not only the bottom of the pots and pans but the side-walls as well.

The pieces feature riveted handles for secure grip, which are fixed to the pots and pans to ensure their sturdiness. Each piece is compatible with all types of cooktops, including electric, gas, infrared, radiant glass, ceramic, and induction.

Usability

Thanks to the tri-ply construction, the pieces in this set cook food quickly and evenly on a lower heat than you might need with other types of cookware. Cooking on too high of a temperature may scorch the bottom, but even a slightly warped pan will still work on a standard stovetop.

These pieces are oven safe, but the handles, which stay cool while you cook on the stove, may get hot in the oven, so use potholders or oven mitts.

These pots and pans are not non-stick pieces. To prevent food from sticking, you'll need to preheat your cookware on medium heat and add your cooking oil only after the pan preheats. Exercising this method ensures that even if you cook on too high of a temperature, your food will still come off your cookware with ease when you clean it.

Cleaning

The pieces in the set are dishwasher safe but are comfortable to wash by hand as well. As long as you made sure to preheat and oil your hand before cooking, food should slide off easily when you wash your cookware. As long as you treat your cookware right, cleaning should be a cinch and restore your cookware to its original glory.

The set contains:

  • 8-inch fry pan
  • 10-inch fry pan
  • 3-quart saute pan with a lid and handle helper
  • 1.6-quart saucepan with lid
  • 3-quart saucepan with lid
  • 6 and a half quart sauce-pot with lid

Pros

  • Heats food quickly and evenly thanks to tri-ply construction
  • Handles stay cool to the touch when you cook on the stove
  • Can hand-wash smoothly or run the cookware through the dishwasher
  • Compatible with any stovetop type
  • Incredibly durable in terms of performance and weight

Cons

  • Might be a little noisy on induction stovetops
  • May scorch the bottom if you cook on too high of heat
  • The lids are not glass, and you cannot see through them to check on your food

Duxtop Professional 17-Piece Stainless Steel Set

Design

In this set comes 17 pieces of gorgeously crafted stainless steel. The cookware has a professional look that will last you years and ergonomic features that make for comfortable handling. Due to their construction, the pieces have a sturdy weight about them as well, making them feel as durable as you would want them to be.

Materials

The pieces in this set achieve their high quality due to 18/10 commercial grade stainless steel and heavy gauge impact-bonded aluminum. Impact-bonding technology uses friction and pressure to form that bond between the base and the disc inside the cookware, meaning there is no harmful adhesive needed during the manufacturing process.

The encapsulated bottom is built to last and ensures even heat distribution on the bottom of the pots and pans - but not on the side-walls, like whole-clad cookware.

The pieces come with anti-slip handles that have a satin finish to look as sleek as they feel. The handles have a shape that is comfortable to grip, and they stay cool to the touch while you cook on the stove. If you use any of these pieces in the oven, however, you still want to use oven mitts or potholders, at the very least.

The cookware is compatible with any type of stovetop. You can use electric, gas, radiant glass, ceramic, infrared, or induction cooktops and still be able to use this cookware.

Usability

The construction of the encapsulated bottoms that these pieces have will ensure that you're able to cook your food quickly and evenly, free from the worry of hot and cold spots on the bottom of your cookware. You won't want to crank the heat up too high when you cook, however.

Since these pots and pans heat up quickly, you run the risk of burning your butter or the breakfast you're trying to make. Because these pans aren't non-stick, you'll have to employ the method yourself to make them that way.

By preheating your pans on medium heat, adding a liberal helping of cooking oil, letting the pan cool, and wiping the oil all around the surface with a paper towel, you can make yourself a makeshift non-stick pan. Not to mention, this technique will make clean-up far less complicated.

Cleaning

The pieces in this set can be hand-washed or ran through the dishwasher since they undergo no discoloration during a dishwashing cycle. The pieces are effortless to clean, especially if you season your pan beforehand - you may only need little soap because water will do the rest. If you run your cookware under the water while it's still slightly hot, any leftover food should slide right off.

The set contains:

  • 8-inch fry pan
  • 9.5-inch fry pan
  • 1.6-quart saucepan with lidA 2.5-quart saucepan with lid
  • 8.6-quart stockpot with lid
  • 4.2-quart casserole with lid
  • 5.5-quart saute pan with a lid and handle helper
  • 9.5-inch pasta basket
  • A steam basket
  • Three kitchen tools - a spoon, spatula, and skewer

Pros

  • No discoloration in the dishwasher
  • Riveted handles provide secure construction
  • High-grade stainless steel and aluminum ensures long-lasting cookware
  • Compatible with any cooktop type
  • Handles are easy to grip and stay cool to the touch

Cons

  • Pieces are clad on the bottom but not up the sides
  • Lids are a lot lighter than the pots and pans and may feel like they're lesser quality
  • Markings are in the metric system, which may confuse American buyers
