Scanpan Classic Nonstick 8-Piece Cookware Set
Design:
This Scanpan Classic set includes two frypans, one saucepan with a lid, one sauté pan with a lid, and a Dutch oven with a lid. All the utensils have a dark color both on the interior and on the exterior.
The covering lids are dome shaped and transparent. Only the saucepan features a pouring spout on the top edge on this set.
Materials:
Bodies of the utensils in the Scanpan classic set are made of hard cast aluminum that is pressed under 200 tons of pressure to give them optimal thickness for quick and efficient heat distribution. The interior cooking surface features a non-stick coating that is made by firing ceramic titanium particles on the surface.
Clear lids that are dome shaped are made of tempered glass, which withstands high temperatures of up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. This means that one could use the utensils even in the oven. The pans can cook over gas, ceramic, and electric cooking stoves.
Usability:
We like the robust collection of utensils that are included in this set for the ability to cover all common needs in the modern kitchen. Dome shaped tempered glass lids lock in moisture and flavors of food while allowing the cook to monitor the cooking progress without having to open the lid.
The ergonomic handles on the utensils are thick and comfortable to hold when moving the utensils with food from the cooking stoves to the oven or serving table.
Users who have owned the utensils in this set like the compatibility of the lids and handles with oven use that withstands temperatures of up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Moreover, the frying pans and saucepan can handle high heat on the cooking stove without warping.
Although the manufacturer has listed the utensils as safe for use with metal utensils, we find it advisable to limit their use. Instead, we recommend that you use non-abrasive utensils made of wood, nylon, or silicone.
Cleaning:
Cleaning of the utensils included in this classical set is made easy by the interior non-stick surface that releases food quickly and cleans with just handwashing. The dishwasher can be used occasionally, although we recommend that you minimize its use to increase the longevity of the utensils.

Scanpan Professional Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set
Design:
Scanpan Professional 10-piece set comprises of two frypans, a stockpot with a lid, a sauté pan with a lid, and two saucepans with lids.
All the utensils have a dark interior and exteriors with contrasting mirror polished handles that are dual riveted with horizontally placed handles on the exterior of the bodies. The set weighs 20 pounds when packed in the 27.00 x 13.00 x 11.00 inch packaging box.
Materials:
The utensils in this professional set are made with pressure cast aluminum technology that achieves the optimal thickness for quick heating and high temperature tolerance without warping.
The non-stick surface has been fortified with titanium, thus making it scratch free and long lasting. Handles are mirror polished to give them a contrasting shiny look with the utensils' dark appearance.
The covering lids are all made of 18/10 stainless steel, thus making them corrosion free and able to withstand high temperatures of up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit in the oven. You can also use the utensils to cook over all common cooking stoves, including induction heaters.
Usability:
The professional set includes utensils that cover all cooking needs to feed a small family as well as a large number of people. The titanium reinforced non-stick coating on the cooking surfaces of the utensils cleans easily and is durable. People who have used this set commend the suitability of the body and reveal that it heats up quickly and evenly over all cooking stoves including induction heaters.
The stainless steel handles that are mirror polished dissipate heat efficiently, thus allowing them to remain cool to the touch even while in use.
Users, however, warn that using the utensils in the oven can make the handles hot and advise that oven mittens be always at hand when using the utensils in the oven.
The covering lids, which have a similar appearance to the handles, act well to lock in the food's moisture and flavors. Their opaque nature, however, requires one to uncover the utensil so that he or she can view food, something that leads to escape of heat and moisture.
Cleaning:
We recommend cleaning the utensils with soap, water, and a non-abrasive sponge to keep the non-stick surface from chipping. Dishwasher cleaning should be avoided whenever possible because it increases the possibility of the utensils colliding in the dishwasher. Additionally, avoid using metal utensils when cooking since they can scratch the non-stick surface and reduce its longevity.

Scanpan Classic Induction Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set
Design:
The classic induction set has two frypans, a saucepan, two stockpots, and a Dutch oven that have accompanying dome shaped lid covers.
The utensils have dark ergonomic handles with thick silicone grips while all the covering lids have silicone handles at the top. The set weighs 24.7 pounds and is packed in a 25 x 14 x 13 inches packaging box.
Materials:
All the utensils that are included in this set are made of squeeze cast aluminum material that heats up evenly without creating hotspots, thus allowing you to save energy. The non-stick cooking surface is free of toxins, is safe for use with metal utensils, and withstands high heat without damage.
Handles are made of heat dissipating steel and together with the clear covering lids, allow oven use up to temperatures of 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The set efficiently cooks over all common cooking stoves including induction heaters.
Usability:
We like the Scanpan Classic's performance in effectively distributing heat quickly and evenly over the whole surface of the utensils. The utensils perform well over induction heaters where they heat up quickly to make them energy efficient. The flat base retains the shape and enables usage over glass and ceramic cooking tops without scratching the base of the utensils or the stove.
We are also impressed by the dome shaped clear glass covering lids that sit and fit tightly over the top edge of the saucepans and stockpot, thus allowing the cook to view food as it continues cooking without needing to uncover it.
The lids also lock in moisture and flavor of the food. These attributes make the utensils perfect for small family meals.
One let down with the lids that users have reported, however, is the lack of a steam release hole, which forces cooks have to slightly uncover the food in order to release pressure that comes from steam buildup.
Cleaning:
The manufacturer labels the utensils as safe for use with metal utensils and dishwasher cleaning. We, however, advise that you limit the use of metallic utensils when cooking with the utensils to ensure the longevity and prevent the cooking surface from scratching. Avoid washing the utensils in the dishwasher too and only hand wash them with soap, water, and a non-abrasive cleaning sponge.

Scanpan CTX 14-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set
Design:
This 14-piece set comprises an assortment of utensils that have a silver exterior color and a dark interior cooking surface. Handles are dual riveted on the exterior of the utensils.
The set also includes covering lids that have spacious handles on the top part. The whole set weighs 12 pounds when packed.
Materials:
The body of the utensils is made of stainless steel on the exterior while the interior features a titanium-reinforced ceramic non-stick coating.
The ergonomic handles, helper handle on the sauté pan, and the covering lids are made of stainless steel with the lids having partial glass at the top part to enable users to monitor food. The utensils allow oven use up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and can be used over all cooking stoves including induction heaters.
Usability:
We like the Stratanium non-stick surface that is five-layered. The cooking surface cleans easily and allows economical use of cooking oil. The stainless steel body is also safe for cooking food without contamination and heats up quickly and uniformly without creating hotspots.
Users who have used these utensils like the stainless steel covering lid that includes a clear glass at the top part, which allows monitoring of food as it cooks. A steam release gap is also left when the lid covers the pots.
The ability of the utensils to cook over all common cooking stoves including induction heaters also makes them a favorite for many cooks who travel from place to place.
Users advise that when cooking with the utensils, one has to moderate the heat to low and medium levels, which allow the body to heat up gradually and prevents hotspots and food sticking on the surface.
Cleaning:
Cleaning of the non-stick surface of the utensils should only be done by hand washing since the non-stick surface releases the food cooking and avoids sticking. Dishwasher cleaning and use of metal utensils should be kept to a minimum because they could scratch and chip of the cooking surface. Instead, use non-abrasive silicon, nylo, and wooden utensils.
