About Paula Deen

Paula Deen grew up in Albany, Georgia. In 1989, she started her first home catering business, The Bag Lady, with her last $200, delivering bagged lunches around town with her sons. She managed to turn her life around and thrive by making delicious and traditional Southern cooking for her customers.

The Bag Lady was a success for her family, and she opened her first restaurant, The Lady and Sons, just five years later.

Paula Deen has expanded her successes to include television cooking shows and a line of kitchen cookware. Her signature cookware collection comes in a variety of colors and is both beautiful and functional.

We have included the two most popular sets from Paula Deen, her 15-piece Signature set and the 12-piece Riverbend cookware line. Please note that both of these lines are made of heavy-duty but NOT hard anodized aluminum and feature a nonstick coating so we can’t classify them as healthy cookware. Paula Deen 15-Piece Signature Nonstick Set

Design:

The design of this 15-piece Paula Deen cookware set is uniquely original with its aqua speckled color. Other colors available include blueberry, butter, coral, red and lavender.

The pots and pans are nonstick, stain-resistant, and durable. This sleek set has tempered glass lids and knobs and handles with gold accents. The set comes with a set of measuring spoons with cute chicken design.

Materials:

This cookware set has a porcelain exterior, and a sturdy nonstick Teflon coated interior. It is constructed with heavy-duty aluminum so that food cooks quickly and easily. The interior is PFOA-free, and it keeps food from sticking. It also makes cleanup easy.

Usability:

The Paula Deen Classic pieces are constructed from solid aluminum and are exceptionally durable. The high-quality nonstick surface works well but you need to pay extra attention to signs of peeling as it’s a Teflon coating.

The set features double riveted cool touch handles so that you won’t burn yourself while cooking, although it is always best to use a potholder when cooking with any cookware set. You can also use this cookware in the oven up to temperatures of 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

It is best not to use metal utensils with this cookware because it will scratch it. Try using nylon or silicone utensils to keep your pieces in good condition. Stop using it at the first sign of damage to the interior surface.

The pieces in the cookware set are made with a porcelain enamel finish. They look decorative so may want to leave them out rather then storing them in a cupboard. The several stylish colors available can match and enhance the décor of your kitchen.

This set can be used on a gas or electric smooth top stove. It is not for induction cooktops.

Cleaning:

You will want to wash this cookware set by hand and towel try. The measuring spoons can be washed in the dishwasher.

It has a nonstick and durable coating in the interior cooking surface so that it will cook foods evenly. This cookware is made to last with its sturdy aluminum base and porcelain enamel coating.

The lids are designed with reinforced glass that will not shatter, and the handles are cool to the touch and so that you can grab them securely while cooking. The lids lock in heat and moisture to enhance the flavor of dishes.

This cookware set is perfect for entertaining family and friends because of the big stockpot and larger size pots and pans. One-pot meals will be easy to make and share.
